- Nyheter
Find the right double bed headboard in the UK: compare sizes, fitting types, materials, prices and seven practical picks for divans and bed frames.
The right double bed with mattress depends on your budget and preferred base. Cheap Bed Sale lists complete double divan sets from £124.99. IKEA’s MALM package with a Valevåg firm mattress costs £358, reduced from £408, while Dunelm’s Fogarty 1500 Pocket Wool Mattress Divan Set costs £609 for a double.
A standard UK double mattress measures 135cm × 190cm, also called 4ft 6in. The options below distinguish complete packages from bed frames, divan bases and mattresses sold separately. Prices were checked on 8 September 2026.
The table groups the options by buying priority. Prices and package contents refer to the listed products; check the selected package for the mattress, storage and headboard before ordering.

The IKEA MALM package includes the bed frame and mattress, with slats and a midbeam supplied as part of the complete bed-and-mattress package. The parts arrive in separate packages. IKEA also lists a white MALM frame with an Åbygda firm mattress at £408 and a white stained oak veneer version with an Åbygda medium-firm mattress at £408.
The Dunelm Fogarty set is a divan base with one mattress, while the headboard is optional. Dunelm also lists Silentnight divan-and-mattress combinations, including an Everyday Mattress and Divan Set at £509–£639 depending on the selected size or configuration.
Cheap Bed Sale’s listed packages include mattresses, while its double divan bases from £89.99 are bases rather than complete bed-and-mattress sets. IKEA, Dunelm and Cheap Bed Sale therefore cover different combinations of frames, divans, mattresses and storage.
The lowest-priced complete sets in this comparison start at £124.99 rather than under £100. The Hf4you set is listed from £124.99, the Divine set from £129.99 and the Onyx Dreams set at £139.99. The Onyx option uses an open-coil mattress and offers storage choices.
The prices do not establish that the budget products have the same construction, mattress specification or durability as more expensive packages. The mattress type, firmness, base construction, storage configuration and delivery terms differ between products.
For comparison, a standalone double mattress costs £287.20 for Dunelm’s Silentnight 1000 Pocket and £469 for its Pocketo 3000 Pocket. The Silentnight has 1,000 pocket springs, medium support and a five-year guarantee. The Pocketo has 3,000 pocket springs, medium-firm support and a 10-year guarantee.
Choose a bed frame if you want a wooden, metal or upholstered structure around the mattress. Choose a divan if you prefer a compact base with a mattress package and possible storage. Choose an ottoman if lifting the bed platform is more useful than accessing drawers.
A low price for a double bed base does not represent a complete bed. Cheap Bed Sale’s £89.99 double divan bases are sold as bases rather than bed-and-mattress packages.
If you want a headboard, Dunelm’s Fogarty 1500 Pocket Wool Mattress Divan Set includes the base and mattress, with a headboard available as an optional extra. Dunelm also lists Silentnight divan combinations with a Velvet Paris Headboard or Fabric Paris Headboard, with displayed prices ranging from £619–£829 depending on the selected size or configuration.
The IKEA MALM package information covers the frame, mattress, slats and midbeam. Its listed package does not include a headboard, so it is a frame-and-mattress option rather than a complete headboard set.
The options in this comparison include memory foam, open coil and pocket sprung mattresses. Pocket springs are individually housed springs; the Dunelm Silentnight and Pocketo listings state their spring counts and support ratings, giving you useful specifications to compare.
Yes. A complete package can combine a bed frame or divan base with a mattress in one listing. IKEA explicitly describes its MALM packages as including the bed frame and mattress, while the Dunelm Fogarty set includes one divan base and one mattress. Cheap Bed Sale also lists complete divan sets with mattresses.
Buying a bed and mattress together makes it easier to match the mattress size to the base. The value depends on the mattress construction, support, guarantee and base included in the package.
For a frame package, the IKEA MALM with Valevåg firm mattress costs £358, reduced from £408. For a divan with a mattress and optional headboard, Dunelm’s Fogarty 1500 Pocket Wool Mattress Divan Set costs £609 for a double. For the lowest-priced complete set, Cheap Bed Sale lists the Hf4you model from £124.99.
The listed standalone double mattresses range from £287.20 for Dunelm’s Silentnight 1000 Pocket to £469 for the Pocketo 3000. The appropriate price depends on the stated support, construction, guarantee and whether the mattress is included with a base.
IKEA, Dunelm and Cheap Bed Sale provide the directly described packages in this comparison. IKEA MALM packages start at £358, Dunelm’s Fogarty divan set costs £609 for a double, and Cheap Bed Sale lists complete sets from £124.99.
